History
David M. Freedman launched Newsletter Strategy Session (NSS) in the fall of 2000. Freedman is a Chicago-based writer, editor, newsletter developer, and media relations consultant. (Visit Freedman's website.)

NSS's mission is to foster the exchange of ideas, strategies, techniques, resources and client referrals among newsletter publishers and writers.

Management
The informative NSS content is still managed solely by Freedman, but he welcomes collaborative ideas from content providers.

DEFINITION: A client newsletter is one that you distribute free, primarily to clients, prospective clients, referral sources, and other stakeholders of your firm. Its objective is to be informative, to demonstrate your expertise, and to promote your services, rather than to earn a profit.
